Magnets, azimuthal equidistant maps, the flat earth, and the ring of fire.

Put the title of this blog post aside for a second and wonder about the following;

What is it about magnets that causes so much curiosity?

I've always had a keen fascination when it comes to magnets, how do they work?

What magical force causes magnets to attract and repel certain metals?

I'm not wanting actual answers for that question - but it's interesting to research.

^ Iron filings line up according to the magnets poles

This really leads me into the next topic, there is a simulation of earth running right now by a rather powerful supercomputer, you can reach it by visiting this link: http://earth.nullschool.net/

The simulation shows you many variables, such as wind speed (which is default) ranging to temperature & much more.

Now, if you follow the link (http://earth.nullschool.net/) you can see there that clearly, the earth is a globe, and you're able to see the "edges" around it as you move it around on the screen.

That's fine, that's great, good job to the coders for getting it so accurate!
So accurate in fact, there are even more options to consider when deciding how you would like to view the planet earth in this simulation, being run by a supercomputer.

When it comes to the flat earth, the theory that the earth is flat, and that there is a giant ring around the outside edge that is commonly known to us as "Antarctica", there is a lot of information to consider - and a lot of disinformation that is thrown in there to confuse you.
Use your own judgement when deciding how you view the earth - it's up to you - just because the mainstream tells you that the earth is a globe - doesn't make it true, and the same goes when somebody tells you the earth is flat.

The link above confirms this when you look at the azimuthal equidistant map of earth through their simulation, it displays, by default, the view of earth from above the north pole:
http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/azimuthal_equidistant
Definition of azimuth. 1 : an arc of the horizon measured between a fixed point (as true north) and the vertical circle passing through the center of an object usually in astronomy and navigation clockwise from the north point through 360 degrees.

What you see above is the commonly accept "Flat Earth" map.
I'm on the fence. I don't know what to think about this map - it's rather depressing actually.
The entire concept of the flat earth is both magical and mind bending. When it really first hit me, I was taken aback, it was like my entire world view had changed - in a good way. Then came the realization of what a flat earth would implicate.. but I don't care much for geopolitics (generally)...
(I'd asked a family member who works in the government about flat earth, jokingly over beers, his response was to ask me if I wanted to get into politics, I was a bit flabbergasted to say the least)

Anyway, the map you see above is but a projection of a globe, if you are to move the map around by clicking and dragging you will see what I mean, it's just a projection.

This is where my adventures in dimensional jumping came in handy, and the owls of eternity appeared to me.

The map above, is a projection, as I said. You can see what I mean by clicking this link:
http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/azimuthal_equidistant=0,90
The numbers on the end there are Longitude and Latitude, so the map above is a projection of Longitude 0, Latitude 90 (essentially it's earth tilted on it's side)

Okay, now you're thinking, what the flying fuck does any of this have to do with anything?
Good question, I ask myself that all the freaking time.
But please, let's continue.

I mentioned the owls of eternity appeared to me, if you think of something long enough you will start seeing it everywhere (in an ideal world). What I did was change the center point, from Latitude 90, to Latitude 0, meaning that it showed 0,0 at the end of the URL - like a couple of wide eyed owl eyes staring blankly into my soul filtering out all the BS - in my mind this is what the true center of a flat earth would be and this map speaks to me. View it here:
http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=temp/azimuthal_equidistant=0,0

You can see in the image above the projected flat earth map I've nicknamed "The Owl of Eternity Map" - there may be an offical name for this map out there (actually it's just called an azimuthal equidistant map, my name sounds cooler though, now you know a bit of backstory behind it) so until I figure that out I'll keep referring to it as such.

From this view, you can see the pacific ocean surrounding the earth and you can also clearly see the fabled trade winds used to navigate the pacific ocean with ease - due to this being rendered by a supercomputer using up-to-date information about wind speed in any given area. We truely are in the future! This map can show you where the latest hurricanes are forming!

All you need to do is look at the beautiful symmetry of this map to understand why I find it so appealing as a way of representing Earth. It's very refreshing to see it without a giant wall of ice surrounding the outside edge.
So what I did next, was wonder, why is it that all of the maps out there that show the earth never depict it as this? In my mind, both of these map projections are equally tangible as being the true representation of earth (if it was flat) - there is no proof either way so how would we ever know?

I researched a bit and found a nicely rendered version;

Now, my mind went into overdrive and I decided to try and roughly draw all of the tectonic plates onto this flat projection of earth - because you can see that all of the continents on this map are projected onto a flat plane, and if that was the case, how the heck would tectonic plates work? It just so happens that the ring of fire is on the outside edge of this map - meaning the pacific plate could be the outside "ring" of a flat earth.

The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The name originates from within Greek language; (oura) meaning "tail" and (boros) meaning "eating", thus "he who eats the tail".

I've put this image above there because it is significant when viewing my depiction of the tectonic plates in relation to this flat earth projection;

I can clearly see, where New Zealand is, a mouth shape - with the Australasian plate being pushed outward from the mouth (as if it were eating it's own tail, in a sense)

Now we go full circle, and get back to magnets - because there is clearly a north and south pole here. To show this I've added how a giant bar magnet works on a flat plane - projected onto this projection.

Doing this immediately reminded me of the monolith found both on earth and on the moon in the movie 2001 a space odyssey:

I would love to keep rambling about this but I fear it would become incoherent out of context - so I'll leave it there.

Please take all information in this blog post in on a conscious level, and do your own research.
Chances are, if you're looking at this, you've already started researching - so keep going!

One loveKeep your eyes on the skies!!

  1. Is there a map out there that represents the megalithic structures on a flat map?

  2. It’s definitely interesting and almost looks like it fits and I’m sure you spent a long time working on all this..but I almost want to push Australia in for some reason lol. I found you because I’m trying to fit the “ring of fire” into the flat earth too. I would want to see how the sun, moon and stars travel on this map as well as plane flights. Just a thought. I wish I were an explorer an dthings weren’t so screwed up in this world to give us a fighting chance. I just hope before I die I figure it out. Bless you and good luck!
